@mlb62 saidLook quick. The changes in our society will be coming fast and furious. Note how long ago we were all nuts about our lib losers pushing the drag queens in schools.
Fetterman has zero respect for our Congress. Sen. Chuck Schumer has just relaxed the dress code , allowing Fetterman to dress like a college slob who just left the gym. The Democrats have no respect for any institutions...😱 .
Yeah, no coat and tie in the senate. Now teaching children about dildos etc, that will become rote as well, what could possibly be worse. And imagine how put off we were when the newly installed narcissist Obama put his feet up on the Oval Office desk.
Nothing is sacred. Not our children, not the desk.

Oh really? Let's see the balance sheet of institutional respect.
Democrats: A questionable dress code
Republicans: Ignoring Congressional Subpoena's, sending a rabid mob of armed goons to attack the capital building, trying to hang their own Vice President, destruction of government property, stealing government documents and hiding them in one's home, and trying to overturn the results of a lawful general election.
But let's just focus on that dress code! 😱 .

Suits are stupid clothes for drones.
The only reason people think that it looks presentable is because the establishment has force-fed that to them since birth.
Ridiculous. Totally impractible clothing.
Cargo trousers with tons of pockets for work. Sweat pants for anything else.
V-necked black T-shirt. Hoodie which zips open (heat regulation).
That’s proper clothing.
And in case you’ren wondering: always Meindels walking shoes; goretex or leather. Doesn’t matter.
And anyone who wears a watch or thinks it’s a status symbol is a stupid arse.
And on a side-subject: Never have a phone or a wallet in your back pocket. What the hell is wrong with you!

I can't stand ties. Don't remember when I last wore one. A decade ago, maybe, for a few hours. They give me a headache, no matter how loosely I wear one.
If they one day go completely out of fashion once and for all, I imagine it will be because something even sillier has come along.

@soothfast saidTies, shirts buttoned up completely... ugh.

Like slow strangulation.
@mchill saidDon't be silly. The dress discussions and rules are part of civility in a society, your comparison is not.

@shavixmir saidA grand case of missing the issue. I will not even bore you with an analogy.

If someone's wearing a suit, you just know they're out to rob you.

They're a layer of veneer put in place to distinguish the ruling classes from the producing classes.

@shavixmir saidYes, I would agree to your point about ruling classes and producing classes. You have read my concerns about the US drifting into Socialism, which is just that, sort of like the hierarchy of many European countries, your reference to ruling classes.

We don’t have that type of hierarchy here, yet, as our people are more entrepreneurial, independent, and self-reliant. The government is not quite running us yet. I know you may have trouble distinguishing as you suggest, but right now we have a constitution, which allows for more freedom, and less dependent on government. In your situation you have government on your mind, a lot, so I can understand your opening paragraph.

No Bisos, Gates, etc. ?
Of course you have ruling classes. Land owners, major industrialists, share holders.
You’ve just been spoon fed the American dream and that you have all the options available to you.
You don’t. You have as much luck as every other schmuck. But not the resources or network which puts you on top.
@mott-the-hoople saidSuzianne? You, too, another screen name ? Right?!?!?
