To eladar, and the other "self appointed" experts here trying to make the case that this virus is "no big deal" and that we should dismiss it as our dear leader in the White House does. I have some news for you - It's worse than you think. Many states are under reporting rates of infection and even deaths.

In at least a dozen states, health departments have inflated testing numbers or deflated death tallies by changing criteria for who counts as a coronavirus victim and what counts as a coronavirus test, according to reporting from POLITICO, other news outlets and the states' own admissions. Some states have shifted the metrics for a “safe” reopening; Arizona sought to clamp down on bad news at one point by simply shuttering its pandemic modeling. About a third of the states aren’t even reporting hospital admission data — a big red flag for the resurgence of the virus.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds told reporters that the state will share information about outbreaks at meatpacking plants only upon request. And Georgia has only just begun to differentiate between the two types of coronavirus tests it's been adding into its testing totals for weeks.

But within the Trump administration, some officials aren’t merely ignoring the warning signs. They’re also selectively using scientific advice and models in their quest for a swift reopening.

Now that red states have taken to 'cooking the books' on the number of COVID 19 cases and deaths to make a case for reopening their states, we must ask: What else are they hiding??

@mchill

Pneunomia deaths are about a third higher after the onset of Covid-19 according to the CDC site (quoted by Ealadar in another thread). Up to March Pneunomia was about the expected value.

I suppose the question of if was covid depends on the doctor writing the death certificate.

Which is what I have been saying all along.

But you seem to imply that the numbers are made too big. If you have a significant rise in Pneunomia at the time the conlsuion would rather be that Covid Numbers have been certified as "normal" pneunomia....

I believe in some areas like New York they are inflated.

WRONG - Hiding data, and manipulating figures by individual states to make their stats look good has nothing to do with a doctor signing a death certificate. You just can't admit that red states are lying about the number of cases and deaths that are really happening, either because you're too ignorant to understand it, or you simply choose to ignore it.

Go back and count the death certificates.

No. You’ve been downplaying the whole fiasco from day one.

And never, once, have you retracted your retarded opinions.

Down play?

328 million people, 100k dead? Most of which are older than 80?

Seriously? This should be a non issue but it is the number 1 issue in the country, it dominates everything.

Non-issue? You're actually saying that 100k dead should be a non-issue, when, if people followed YOUR recommendations, it would be five times higher?

Just STFU, you Republican ghoul.

How many people have died this year? Do you know?
