Most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time.

What next, the smurfs are communist AND gay? Think about it, they live in a village working together for the good of the village. And there is only ONE female in the whole village? Loose morals there if you ask me.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Again loose morals, they eat pizza and live in a sewer, seems to be promoting homelessness to me, they also "fight" evil. Sounds a bit suspect, with that reckless attitude they will surely end up being sued, bad things to show kids.

Idiots like the guys wanting to ban it are the reason I think dictatorships with me in charge would work.

Lets not even get on the whole Harry Potter is satanic thing. Started by an innocent SATIRE article on The Onion.

I was all prepared to come in this thread and reveal my secret crush on Chucky from Rugrats and now I'm disappointed.

A quote from the website:

"Their inclusion of the reference to 'sexual identity" within their 'tolerance pledge' is not only unnecessary, but it crosses a moral line," James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, said in a statement released Thursday.

So this guy is stating that anyone who is not heterosexual is immoral. Is this not inciting sexual discrimination and hatred. Someone should take these guys to court. It's about time that these christian fundamentalists were legislated against.

If they want to live their lives by the bible - fine. But don't foist your archaic views upon the rest of society.

Discrimination based on sexuality is not illegal in the US (unless I have been misinformed).

You have been somewhat misinformed. Certain states and many localities have laws barring discrimination in employment, housing and other areas because of someone's sexual preference. I'll try to find a link to a site giving a list of such laws and ordinances. These types of anti-discrimination provisions against gays are quite common in the "blue" states.

But in many states it is still allowed. I knew that some states had laws but I thought that there was no national consensus.

Your statement was: Discrimination based on sexuality is not illegal in the US (unless I have been misinformed).

This statement is not true. It would only be true if no place in the US had anti-discrimination laws including gays. For example, in 13 states discrimination against gays in employment IS illegal; in 8 other states and in the federal government discrimination against gays in public employment is illegal.

OK I was wrong in making a general statement.
