New York judge on Monday held former President Donald Trump in contempt, and fined him $10,000 per day, for failing to comply with a subpoena requiring he turn over documents to investigators conducting a sprawling financial fraud probe for New York Attorney General Letitia James.

I have been (less than) impressed with the justice system's coddling of Donald Trump so far, but it seems there are occasionally some real penalties for rich people who thumb their noses at the law.

He doesn't pay...........Watch,
he will weasel out like a cockroach.

So they are struggling to find anything substantial and now they are requesting Trump provide evidence against himself?

I'm no lawyer but Trump doesn't have to provide any incriminating evidence.
You have to be proven guilty. Proving your innocence is not required in court.

Unless the judge finds you in contempt.
This is a civil, not criminal action.

Fortunately, the judge doesn't see it this way - And the judge is a lawyer. 😏

The judge said later in the proceedings that if those files were searched or do not exist then an affidavit was required so already this 10k fine a day is a nothing burger created to make headlines and nothing more.
