The problem with that scenerio is the power of the upper crust of the corporation, able to shift production around and manipulate the system to counter the aims of the workers. You can see that in the use of plant closings that just so co-incidentally kill off a union and rebuild the plant in a third world country where just also accidentally the wages are ...[text shortened]... ty. When that third world country gets too uppity, a new 4th world country is found, ad nauseum.

In the current reality, communism does compete. Israeli Kibbutzim are still responsible for the bulk of Israel's agricultural output.
