What is your basis for disagreeing with this assessment, since it
appears to be universally believed by all parties involved (those for
and against the surgeries)?

That is, do you disagree with the claim that she has a three-month
old mentality and that this status will not change? If you agree with
this, what is the debate?

And why do you find them this way? Certainly, you aren't
asserting that Ashley's parents should eschew the surgeries simply
because you opine differently, right?

Because I am not convinced that the "Ashley Treatment" is in Ashley's best interests. They should describe first what they mean by "best interests".

These facts do not mean that she is "entrapped" in her body.

If medical reasons are not very convincing to you, there's no debating with you ivanhoe. Medical science is one of the most advanced things in today's world, and they have given plenty of examples of why it'd benefit her. And you have yet to give a single reason why it wouldn't.

WHY, Ivanhoe, WHY? What arguments can you put forth that suggest that they are not in
her best interests?

None, I suspect. Just that 'you are not convinced.'

No one is saying 'entrapped' but you. What the medical community is saying is that
she is a three-month old in a growing child's body. These two things weren't naturally
meant to be together -- three-month olds belong in three-month olds' bodies. This is
what people mean by 'trapped,' that one part is outgrowing the other part.

This disunity poses all sorts of problems. Medical doctors are trying to alleviate these
problems at the wishes of her stewards, her parents.

Care to offer a reason why you opine that these surgeries are not in her best interests?

She might not grow, but she'll age physically. She won't look like a child.

Since when does the burden of proof rest on my shoulders ? The burden of proof rests on the shoulders of those implementing this "Ashley treatment".

Since you made a statement that said that you thought this treatment was not in her best interests. If you're going to make a statement, back it up with your reasoning why this is bad for her.

What is best for Ashley is Ashley's best interest.

Hey Eel... how are you and the nematoad doing these days?

I agree with Joe. And I will give you a reason. Because anything that a lefty does for their kids is by definition DUMB. How's that?

And on a more serious note. We are a silly little species. For some to take upon themselves an Act Of God seems a bit supercilious and fey. You know what I mean? Well... you probably have no clue as to what those words even mean, so never mind.

And as a good practicing atheist, it pains me to see stupid people try to replace God. Life is tough enough if we all just admit we are stupid savages, without this constant “god complex” to try and make what is a silly chimp-like species into a grand god-like one.

Whoever nematoad is, I'm sure we're just fine. How about you?

And suprisingly, I do know what those words are. Did you read their website?

Nemesio is the nematoad. You two used to be hatched of a single egg. Not? Don't tell me you had a separation operation? I hope there is no scar tissue left over. And if there was, I'm sure that #zero will want to eat it and lick it clean. Being a mighty marauder and all. ahem.

I'm doing ok. Just finished writing a couple of novels. Waiting to see if they get published. So far, I have found out that you don't get anything done without an editor on your side.

And just finished a big software project for a big national construction firm... uniting a bunch of small companies using no less than twenty accounting systems into Navision ® accounting.
