But what happen all the time is that everybody just ran away, hoping that somebody else will be killed, and then let the unfortunate one be killed at some meters from them.
Never understood that when I was 5 and still don't.
Apparently people react the same way.
I remember as well a poster from Amnesty International saying:
"When they arrested a Jew, I didnt worry, it's just a Jew.
"When they arrested a Communist, I didnt worry, it's just a Communist..."
and so on and so on. The last sentence was:
"When they came to arrest me, there was nobody left to worry about me"
