They offered condolences to his family.

That seems like a decent thing to do; they also praised the actions of the off-duty officer though your misleading YouTube left that out:

"Boston Mayor Michelle Wu spoke with reporters outside the restaurant following the 5:30 PM shooting. "I'm glad that the officer is safe, and very grateful for a quick response from all of our first responders here in such an active part of Boston."

Commissioner Cox commended the police officer. "We don't look for loss of life," Cox said. "Our condolences go out to the family of the individual. We are also proud our police officers, whether on-duty or off-duty, who activate themselves to help save lives."

The person's family are blameless; what is wrong with offering condolences to them? Maybe if someone else had been seriously hurt it would have been in questionable taste, but they weren't.

Every one of the people in your video praised the police; your video just left that out to create a false narrative.

Schizophrenia and bipolar psychosis has been around since Biblical times of course. Jesus knew it as being "possessed by demons." Remarkably, Jesus' solution was never summary execution - that we know of. 😆

Of course, most people with frank psychosis are unemployed, so they can't afford very good medical care. Medicaid, usually pays for... Oh, but wait...
