Askern House

Empty house or bungalow, reported by Julia Courtenay at 15:26 today
Sent to Bedford Borough Council 3 minutes later

This property is enmpty and boarded up, according to the land rejistry office it belongs to Bedford Pilgrims Housing Association. Surely this should be occupied or sold to buy affordable housing for people who need it, instead of just letting it fall into disrepair.

Shouldn't there be zoning laws in place requiring the owners of a property to keep it reasonably well-maintained? I'm sure if the owner is hit with a heavy fine, that house will be fixed up and-or sold in very short time.
