It’s not about impeachment, really.
The chances of the senate doing that are extremely low.
It’s about objectively demonstrating that there’s a line in the sand and that at least one of the houses has demonstrated that the behaviour is deemed unacceptable.
If the second house refuses to act on the findings, then the country knows:
- the facts
- and who’s refusing to act.
So even if trump gets a second term, he’s still a proven crook / traitor.
Well, actually, it IS about the impeachment.
Bill Clinton was impeached by the Republican House, while the Democratic Senate refused to remove him. The House knew that going in.
The House cannot stand by while the chief executive flaunts his breaking the law. What can be done, must be done. As Speaker Pelosi finally understands, we don't really have a choice. We cannot stand idly by while this man befouls the office. Otherwise we're no better than him.

But not stopping the blatant, most egregious ones means that you endorse all of them. And that's not really where we want to end up.
Mr. Smith was idealistic and ready to do the work of the People, and then he went to Washington and was then corrupted. The idea is to prolong the corruption as long as possible. To this end, we shouldn't really be voting for those whose only constituent is himself.
-Removed-Up to this week, I had been convinced he will be impeached. But there have been some discoveries, new lies, then more. The Biden disclosures, his brushing off questions, his corruption with his son, all this new stuff, pretty much just this week
So Divegeester, maybe this impeachment gambit may fail. Thought y'all had it there, I must admit. We have all forgotten the democrats' platforms during the campaign, they are otherwise engaged!! (Have they noticed that Trump is delivering the wall?!??! I think that just about takes care of all his campaign promises. Obama didn't quite pull his off.)

You do realize this is not about Biden, right? I gather you figure its ok for a POTUS to ask for help from a foreign government to find dirt on a political opponent.
If it is ok for Trump, do you think it should be ok if a dem wins in 2020?
