PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police said Wednesday they are reopening an investigation into a Portland massage therapist's allegations that former Vice President Al Gore groped her at an upscale hotel in 2006.

After the alleged incident, the woman said she was dissuaded from contacting the police by liberal friends of hers, whom she refers to as "The Birkenstock Tribe," and of which she counts herself a member.

"It's like being the ultimate traitor," the woman said.

One friend "was basically asking me to just suck it up, otherwise the world's going to be destroyed from global warming," she said.

I have to admit that almost everything I hear about the Gores makes me loathe them a little bit more.

Not so, he has led the charge to save us from global warming. Surely it is a noble cause even though it sould enrich beyond his wildest dreams and cause the American economy to crash and burn further.

Yes; but he's not the only one who is working on that problem. Mostly what he's done is make a convenient target for opposition to parody and make fun of. He's just so obnoxious in his self righteousness.

i think he comes from a tobacco-farming family. odd since IIR cigarettes were one of the things Clinton/Gore dinged Bush Elder on somehow (they sent a guy dressed in a cigarette costume to heckle GB I at his campaign events, i think).
