@no1marauder saidA bit of a stretch, Marauder, not the same thing. But you libs take license when up against a wall. Again, the mexicans are 'fleeing' nothing, as Kissinger was fleeing Nazis, who were killing jews. The immigrants to Germany are nothing new, the Border invaders are big-time new.
Most of the refugees Kissinger is talking about were fleeing war zones like Syria or Somalia.
No news report nor any poster here has EVER referred to their plight as 'fleeing".
Whew.
@averagejoe1 saidThat you are soooooooooooooooo incredibly ignorant of what is happening in the real world doesn't make your Dream World true.

"he newspaper said the country is on course to see 1.2 million new arrivals this year — a 35% increase from 2015 when 890,000 migrants and refugees, mainly fleeing the Syrian war, came to the country. "

And, of course, immigration and refugee seeking to the US is "nothing new". Here learn something as to its causes: https://thehill.com/latino/547044-five-reasons-why-us-faces-chronic-crisis-at-border/
Or this from the "Golden Age" of 2018:
"The forces driving ordinary people to leave their homes and put their lives at risk crossing deserts with smugglers to get to the US border are deeply rooted in Central America’s history of inequality and violence, in which the US has long played a defining role.
The flow of migrants trying to cross the border illegally is not all blowback from US foreign policy. Much of the poverty, injustice and murder in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras is homegrown, harking back to the age of Spanish conquest. Small criminal elites have long prospered at the expense of the populations.
Experts on the region argue, however, that when politicians or activists have come forward on behalf of its dispossessed, the US has consistently intervened on the side of the powerful and wealthy to help crush them, or looked the other way when they have been slaughtered.
The families in the migrant caravans trudging towards the US border are trying to escape a hell that the US has helped to create."

@no1marauder saidJesus, how stupid can you be?
Jesus, how stupid can you be?
If you had finished third grade, you'd know the Mayflower wasn't anywhere near Jamestown.
How can you be so bigoted about "American Culture" yet be so ignorant of the most basic facts about it?
I was sorely tempted to answer that myself, but I'm trying to be more respectful. 😏
@no1marauder saidI wont be in a discussion that the USA is the bad guy. It is an oxymoron. You don't like anything about the USA, I get that from your culture, that is why the libs and cons meet here to ferret each other out. You suggest we created probs down there and yet they want to join us?? And you left out that the border invaders are from about 150 countries.....they ALL want to come here. Your argument is weak.
That you are soooooooooooooooo incredibly ignorant of what is happening in the real world doesn't make your Dream World true.

You are ignorant to the extent that you do not understand the nature of cultures, and more specifically, in the current mideast warring, I will go so far as to say the Israeli/Palestinian world is made of up not of cultures.......But, they are tribes. Tribes, Marauder. Please let that sink in.
An example of lib-think is McHill saying above 'How the indians must have felt when we arrived'. Note he only sees it that one way, but he does NOT say how WE in the USA feel when the invaders arrive at our southern border. Marauder...
He says the Indians would have liked to repel the invaders, but he does NOT say that we, today, should repel the invaders at our border.
**. Yes, correction, Plymouth MA,.. sure glad we cleared up that error. Havent thought of Jamestown since 7th grade.
@mchill [i]See how you libs go on a one-track tear?
The American Indians were thinking the very same thing when white people began arriving on the boats from Europe.
You show the position, the feelings, that the Indians may have harbored about our entering their land. Am I right?
But, you fail to equate their position with that of our citizenry, when we see the invaders "entering our land". Same thing? 🤔
Now, why will you not close your comment and explain yourself?

Not quite the same thing Joe. The American Indians didn't s lock our children in animal cages, deny them medical care, and ship them off to other countries, never to see their parents again. The American Indians didn't lie to their own people, saying they'll build a wall to keep us out, and that another country would pay for it. The American Indians fought with bows and arrows against our Christian pure ancestors' firearms, and within 2 centuries over 80% of them were slaughtered. Our ancestors' actions were neither Christian nor pure. Nope, it was not exactly the same thing Joe, but the differences in our actions, or our ancestors were not an improvement!
@mchill saidWow you sure jumped a couple hundred years. The Iindians woke up on Tuesday (Plymouth Rock) and saw this boat on the horizon, scared the bejesus out of them.

Are we together so far?
A few hundred years later, same thing happened to granny in south texas while she was in her chicken coop. These invaders crossed the river and trampled her garden, scared her to death, I think she had a heart attack.
Looks like same thing to me.
You might want to direct the rest of your post, about the Obama-built cages, to Sonhouse. That is not what I wrote about. Hey, you do a segue. do ya?
