I am not even going to paraphrase. Take it for what it is worth. Do you libs really think like this? Did you see where, when asked by a reporter about how long gas prices will be high, he said " Whatever it takes".

that inflation/energy prices are high worldwide?

I am writing, myself, (How many times must you be reminded!!@!!!!) about your president having the gall , in THIS country, to tell all our strapped citizens to be ready for 'whatever it takes'.

If you ever catch what an issue is, I will be the first to congratulate you, keep waiting.
@averagejoe1 saidDo you seriously think that international affairs don’t influence the US?

You want cheaper oil prices? Stop sanctioning Iran, stop the war in Yemen, bitch slap Saudi Arabia until they act like it’s the 21st century and tell OPEC to get their arses in gear or you’ll nuke them back into the middleages.
@shavixmir saidF those countries, Shav. The usa can be oil independent, so all that you say is irrelevant to what the crap president could be doing. Do I want cheaper oil prices? Open pipe lines, and drill for oil . No nuke needed.

Or we could do like the little candy fairies in London who glued themselves to VanGogh paintings, chanting Stop Oil.
So, what do you think? Ruin VanGogh art, or drill for oil.?
I am curious, why do libs link us to people like Saudi or whomever, when we can do just fine with our own oil? Do you fellers have any oil? Do you know any other countries such as the USA who can be oil independent with just a f'n phone call from Joe 'plagiarizing' Biden?
I cant believe you even tried to answer this point.

Driving is the only rest I get (and Europe is gorgeous to drive through).
The USA cannot be anything independent. It’s no longer how the world works.
And even though I don’t care a damn about it, there are environmental issues that have to be considered.
The actual solution, in case you are wondering, is hydrogen engines.
But for that to work, they have to create a hydrogen infrastructure (petrol stations and fascilities).
The petro-chemical giants tried their best to hinder the developement, but since the rise of the electric car, they’re on the losing side of history.
Why hydrogen over battery?
Because batteries aren’t good for the environment (actual riding… yes, better than petrol, but the making, transport and dispersing of batteries is not good at all… and the electricity to load them is often non-green) and the defacto action radius is 400km and then 45 to 90 minute breaks.
So, sustainable for inner-city travel, not much else. And the battery-charging infrastructure is so micro-web (having to place charge points all over the bloody place) that it’s invasive.
Then… and this will be the major issue going forward with the battery-electric car… if 50% of vehicles need charging… how the hell are you going to generate all that extra electricity and transport it?
More power plants, more cables, how many charging stations on each street and each petrol station?
Hydrogen is where it will go.
@averagejoe1 saidSo ....... what you are suggesting is ........ UK gas $11/gal, US gas $2/gal ??

So what ? No big deal, right ??
btw, I knew years ago that the transition from non-renewable energy to renewable energy source was going to result in a gradual increase in our current pricing.
That's part of transition. Not complicated. Don't open any new sources of the "old" energy.
That's why I have asked several times to the conservative group in here where you guys stand on the climate crisis we are facing.
Is it real or fake ?? Simple question. Have you responded ??
@averagejoe1 saidThat is what the corp news media wants people to think. They once showed a woman they asked how much money should we send Ukraine. That woman said how ever much it takes. That is what they want people to think.

They never pick a person who says it is a waste of money we should be spending on the homeless instead. They will not show that person.
@shavixmir saidAnd you will get hydrogen from fossil fuels because that is the least expensive source.

We can be oil independent by just mandating electric cars, which will reduce the amount of oil used but we will NEVER get off oil because transport aside, it is needed for many chemicals, plastics for instance, making tires, which I know a bit about because of a past job at Firestone tire and rubber co. near Watts.
And of course the coming transition to electrics will take a major overhaul in recharging stations, like getting faster recharge which means pumping in hundreds of kilowatts at a time, if you have a 100 Kwhr battery, and you supply it with 100 Kw, it takes an hour to charge so we need a MEGAwatt charger, bringing that battery recharge down to 6 minutes. 2 megawatts, 3 minutes and so forth. And around every corner former gas station.
There is also hydrogen powered cars, using fuel cells and now they are getting more efficient and longer lasting and one advantage is using similar technology that pumps gas but now liquid hydrogen or gaseous, depending on which technology works out the best.
Electric's means major input of energy, with whatever we can work out, solar may get up to 50% efficient in a few years or wind power and such, all of those have their quirks too. I keep waiting for that Mr Fusion from BTTF.

Then we will be dependent on coal for the electricity. More CO2 for plant life. Cool.
@sonhouse saidElectricity is mostly generated by burning coal, the most carbon heavy fossil fuel.
@Metal-Brain
Right, you are SO, er, SOMETHING, don't know just what.
