    1. Im not sure Gordon Brown speaks for all liberals.

    2. I don't see what the big deal is, perhaps there could have been a better choice of words, but calling the woman bigoted wasn't really far-fetched given her worry about all the eastern europeans, Im surprised she didn't say "they take our jooobs!"

    What a completely ridiculous situation.

First, the woman didn't say anything that was so terrible.

Second, who cares whether Brown thought she was bigoted? She said something that can be construed as being slightly bigoted and so what's so bad if Brown jumped to a conclusion?

The whole incident is just a symptom of political correctness run amuck.

Everyone should just chill. Let people say what they want and let others draw what conclusions they want.

Apparently, a "liberal" (who, apparently, all share the same views) is anyone to the left of extreme right ultraconservatives - which would be "us" (apparently, anyone who is a xenophobe). At least, in zeeblebot's world.

Whatever liberals really think, I am fascinated that you name this thread what they think of us. Since the woman in question has been a lifelong Labour Party supporter, I am not sure that she is going to squeeze comfortably into a label that brackets her politics with yours.

Don't you know? If one liberal (by liberal I mean anyone who conservatives call liberal, not necessarily someone who IS a liberal) says/does something embarrassing then ALL liberals always must be in complete agreement.

something's wrong with your keyboard, you said "liberal" but i'm sure you meant to say "teabagger".
