Debates

Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist from Queens and a candidate for Mayor of New York City, has unveiled a plan to raise the city's minimum wage to $30 an hour by 2030. This proposal, part of his mayoral campaign, is branded as "$30 by '30".

Take note, economists have (n WSJ) determined officially that the increase in min wage in CA to $20 has, in 6 months, cost 18,000 jobs, and of course, that number will rise. Dems do not care. What they do care about is votes. What people care about is handouts, and promise them this, they will vote for you. But less labor will be employed with the advent of Robots.

Not that I'm really interested in hiring in NYC anyway, but I can hire well-trained college graduates for skilled positions for $25/hour, or less in some cases.

Mamdani and people of his political persuasion seem to believe that you can work backwards from living expenses to wages (really just a corollary to the labor theory of value, a Marxist concept).

I guess at some point people will realize that this is not the way real life works.

You worthless trumptarded freaks always seem to NOT reflect on the reality of situations. Absolutely worthless child molester protecting freaks. 🙂
Where's those child molester Epstein files smaller than average joe boy? Let's a stick to all the facts. 🙂

AI Overview
"The average price for a one-bedroom apartment in New York City is around $4,032. However, rent prices can vary significantly depending on the neighborhood, with some areas being more affordable than others. RentHop says that the median price of all currently available listings is $4,750.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Overall Average: Apartments.com indicates a one-bedroom apartment averages $4,032 per month.
Manhattan: Rent-Cafe reports that the average rent in Manhattan is $5,539.
Other Boroughs: Realtor.com suggests that the Bronx is the most affordable borough for renting a room, with a median price of $1,134 per month. Brooklyn's median rent is $1,499, while Manhattan is the most expensive at $1,891."

That's $1500.00 a month at best for a sleeping room with the bathrooms down the hall that every one has to share. Go figure loser joe! Holy smokes to what end smaller than average joe boy?

The way things are trending, by 2030 a global council of AI might be in charge of all our systems, so maybe Mamdani is wisely sprinkling the mulch of their LLM training in advance with this suggested level of play-money pay, for the sake of all future jobless humans.

Japan? Trump? what ......
Anyway, you must have missed my post......it has been determined that a mere $25 wage has resulted in a loss of 18K jobs in CA. Not Japan. And it will continue to be aloss of more jobs. CA must not have heard about robots making hamburgers.
Oh, I just looked a few clicks back, I did point that out. DId you just ignore that to tell us what Japan is doing? What about the pitiful kids in CA losing their jobs?
Everyone, this is an example of a lib who avoids 'inconvenient' facts, and this one, this Thousand poster, actually goes a step further to move goalposts, and change issues, all at the same time!!!!

I don't seem to remember your ever having objected to Trump dictating to privately owned companies how they must run their businesses.

Or is this your indirect way of commenting about that?
