@averagejoe1 saidYou're as dumb as a rock !!
By liberal reasoning, he did not earn the money. He got it off the backs of millions and millions of people. Yet you want to take money from the rich who have taken risk, and earned it
But just so you know, how communist countries like pre 1990 Soviet and Eastern Europe regions was that governments just never allowed lotteries.
There was no debate over how to treat the winners.
As to the concept of how a person is rich, the odds are that the person holding the ticket most likely has no concept of how to "live like a rich person".
They may have a nice house and nice car in the driveway, but they will not move into the new circles of society.
I think most Americans understood that.
Eg, the Beverly Hillbillies show in the 60's.
Joe, you're a hillbilly, right ? 😜
@sonhouse saidTHIS is why I said, in Post #6, that we hope Sonhouse does not respond. Have y'all read his post? What if I were the winner? Am I jealous? I'm upset about MY tickets!?!?!? What in the hell?
@AverageJoe1
What say you if YOU were the winner? Sounds like pure jealousy to me. What happened, you bought a thousand tickets and didn't win a penny?
Personally, I don't buy lottery tickets, I would rather just set fire to a hundred dollar bill and watch it burn but of course the lottery addicts just say well if you don't buy a ticket you can't win. Sure, spend a thousan ...[text shortened]... 500 million of winning. That brings it down to one chance in a HALF million.
Stupid concept to me.
Such is Sonhouse. No mention of Trump, though.
@no1marauder saidIt is about earlier negative posts about how rich people are, how much money they make, and how there should be some sort of regulation, even to the extent that there should be a measure of what people require to live comfortably....like, they don't need anymore.
Then what is it about?
It is about comparing that restrictive mindset to the fact that this person will, for a $5 ticket, pick up gross receipts of $1.2B........ How can you libs get after the rich people, but let this guy just keep his winnings?? That is all that this post is about. Hypocrisy.
This is so simple, that y'all are lousing up this simple question with all kinds of add-ons, like taxes, or how people get rich. You avoid the question. No one will answer it straight out, no one will justify being OK with the winner, but not OK with Bezos and Musk, et al.

@averagejoe1 saidWhat is this post about?
This post is not about taxes. We stipulate that everyone earns money legally and pays the required taxes.
Taxes?...Been answered....Winning a lottery?..Been answered
It seems as nonsensical as the one about parenting.
@no1marauder saidIf you are not confused, can you be the one to give us the answer?
Joe is the one who is confused, not me.
@averagejoe1 saidBy conservative logic he did not earn the money and received a handout from taxpayers.
By liberal reasoning, he did not earn the money. He got it off the backs of millions and millions of people.
Everything you post is stupid.
This is amazing, these responses.
Telephone spam calls
How to live like a rich person
Other Countries
The Beverly Hillbillies
What if I had bought a ticket
Anonymity of winners
Taxes
Your answers/posts are peppered with extraneous stuff such as this list.
A liberal ploy, I guess. None of them have ANYTHING to do with this simple question. Be you a marxist or capitalist or someone in between, you must have some reason to allow the winner his money, but on the other hand, wanting to restrict money of the billionaires, the subject of many a post.
Anyone is allowed to answer, even Sonhouse! 🤔

@vivify saidThat could very well be. It came from somewhere, he legally got it. You are OK with that, in any event.
By conservative logic he did not earn the money and received a handout from taxpayers.
Everything you post is stupid.
You are NOT OK with Musk having 200B, and want to regulate it in some fashion.
The query is....why is one scenario different than the other??

@averagejoe1 saidIt's all a matter of how that wealth was acquired.

Were people exploited in inhumane ways like Apple does with Chinese sweatshops? Were people forced to work long hours with little pay while having to use plastic bottles to urinate in like with Amazon?
Nothing wrong with wealth as long as it was obtained ethically.
@averagejoe1 saidIf you ever get around to asking a coherent question, I might.
If you are not confused, can you be the one to give us the answer?
