The US has a long history of lying like this.

President Wilson blamed the sinking of the Lusitania on the Germans because it had civilians on it, but recent dives show it was loaded for bare with war supplies for the UK, making it a viable war time target. He used this to get the US into war with Germany.

There is also much controversy over FDR and Pearl Harbor. Did FDR provoke the attack and did he know about it considering the Japanese code had already been broken and was used 6 months later for a victory at Midway.

LBJ created a fictitious attack on the US navy to sell the Vietnam war, etc.

So as we see, this is common practice historically.

It's just nice to have a President not start a war for a change.

I know, let's turn our health care over to them. What could poooossibly go wrong?

The papers depict the view of many people of a conflict with vague and unachievable war aims, pursued under three US presidents, George W Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump, whose alleged successes were presented repeatedly in inflated terms.

I'm convinced this is all true, but I doubt this is the first time in human history that a government has lied to its citizens - and it won't be the last.

Why would you expect anything else? Democrats do the same thing with Fiona Hill's lies and some unnamed US government officials lies. The Ukraine court determined there was election meddling by digging up dirt on Manafort. It was not Russia that started the narrative. Russia did not even report the story first, that would be John Soloman and the NYT.

no1 embraces lies and the lying liars that tell them, so why can't Whodey?

Well it is either the lies of the "D"'s or the "R"s. Which do you prefer?

I at least admit that Trump lies at times, as where marauder will bend over backwards to defend corrupt politicians like lying Hillary and Quid Pro Joe.

I also point out the severity of the lying. For example, Trump may tell 200 lies in a day, just to sell himself. Everything he does is the biggest and best whether it is or not, just to promote himself. However, Obama can tell one lie about our health care that can negatively effect our personal health and finances and possible destroy our economy, that one lie is far worse. Or one lie that gets hundreds of thousands killed in a war, if not more is worse than the 200 lies Trump tells a day to sell himself.

To his credit, Trump has not told any such lies as bad as those before him.

Really?
I’ve never heard this before.

Worth looking into, methinks.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/may/01/lusitania-salvage-warning-munitions-1982

"Successive British governments have always maintained that there was no munitions on board the Lusitania (and that the Germans were therefore in the wrong to claim to the contrary as an excuse for sinking the ship)," wrote Noel Marshall, the head of the Foreign Office's North America department, on 30 July 1982.

"The facts are that there is a large amount of ammunition in the wreck, some of which is highly dangerous. The Treasury have decided that they must inform the salvage company of this fact in the interests of the safety of all concerned. Although there have been rumours in the press that the previous denial of the presence of munitions was untrue, this would be the first acknowledgement of the facts by HMG."

But there was no “second attack” by North Vietnam — no “renewed attacks against American destroyers.” By reporting official claims as absolute truths, American journalism opened the floodgates for the bloody Vietnam War.

To get the truth, you may want to watch something other than CNN Shav.

LOL.
