Does anybody else make the connection between marketshare and populations being farmed and cultivated for dollars by corporations. Why is it that all corporations try to monopolise markets.

I don't know that I agree with your analogy, but in answer to your question, it's Darwinian. The corporation must, by its very nature, seek market share, even at the expense of its competitors. The end result of this primordial struggle is more and better products and increased shareholder value. Read Ayn Rand’s "Atlas Shrugged," to get a view of what happens when governments interfere in the market to guarantee market share and protect inefficient corporations.

I don't recommend reading Ayn Rand - she sucks.

Of course, after reading "Anthem" I just couldn't stomach more of that crap.

Stunning criticism. What more recomendation do you need other than that this is the best cmsMaster can come up with. Mind you she openly admits to having only read one book :^/

Back to your analogy about corporations farming citizens and harvesting market share -- wasn't this the plot of The Matrix?

I'm making the connection of farming the dollars. Yhe people are the plants the dollars are the fruits. If you choose to follow me this way, you might consider what large scale farming has done to soils across the globe.

it's all about consolidation ... how many people shop at little boutiques just to keep them in business, esp. when there's a Wal-Mart down the road?
