A reporter from the Rolling Stones, Michael Hastings, has been found dead behind the wheel of his car which was crashed into a tree and on fire. However, hours before the crash he emailed a friend a cryptic message saying that the Feds were interviewing his friends and close associates regarding news gathering, needing to find legal counsel, and that he was onto a big story and must go off the radar.

So get out the tin foil hats everyone. This government has earned it!!

Incidentally, the Feds deny ever investigating his friends and associates.

I'm surprised I didn't know there was a massive fiery death crash in Hancock Park this last week. I wonder where exactly he crashed?

EDIT - It was on Highland apparently.

    Well that settles everything.

Nothing to see here. Cars fly off the road all the time and explode. He must have just hit a pot hole or two.

Hastings's notoriety for shaking up the status quo with his writing has already filled cyberspace with conspiracy theories that the government was behind his death.
The Huffington Post spoke with former U.S. National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism Richard Clarke, who seems convinced that the details of the car crash are consistent with a cyber attack. Someone meddling with the car's internal computers could cause the car to randomly accelerate or throw the breaks, causing a major impact upon crashing.

Information that has come out since the accident shows that Hastings very much believed that he was under investigation by the FBI for his investigative reporting.
In a series of tweets following the crash Wikileaks confirmed that Hastings had reached out to them regarding his concerns that the federal government was after him.
