Are those who voted for him responsible? As I recall, "W" was touted as being a "conservative", however, nothing was further from the truth. Well its not that easy because on the other side of the isle you had fiscally liberal spending Democrats. If you ask me, conservatives have not had representation in government for quite some time and with good reason. Government is all about power and money and the populace is simply there to fleece. Where else are they going to get their money?
You are always claiming that Democrats are fiscally irresponsible, however, when Clinton left office the nation had the largest surplus of cash ever. Is this what you mean by fiscal irresponsibility?
