A disturbing article about how Monsanto, DuPont and Dow Chemicals are destroying agriculture in Mexico specifically, and how they are destroying the earth in general.

They are trying to monopolize food and cotton for sure. Interesting subject as it can branch out into many interesting paths.

The main object of Monstano's GM crops is not to make a better product, but to lock farmers into a dependency on Monsanto. First, by controlling the patents to the seeds themselves, and then by selling them their toxic RoundUp pesitcide, which their GM crops have been designed to be immune to. Monsanto makes a killing, both coming and going, while farmers are left more and more dependent on on the capricious whims of Monsanto itself. Their board of directors should be assassinated.

Isn't almost all corn and a lot of other crops in America now genetically enhanced?
I don't see the big deal, this is just Aljazeera doing what it does best...spewing anti-western propaganda and making a big deal out of nothing. .

And you think Monsanto doesn't have an enormous influence in shaping what governments allow?

Monsanto is responsible for keeping a hungry world fed with it's GE crops, I would imagine it has a tremendous influence.
What's wrong with that?

Monsanto is not the answer, whatever you may think. They are going to make things worse in the long run. Much worse. Think about that.
