try this, http://www.policalc.com/2009/05/08montana-flips-fed-govt-the-bird-texas-utah-to-follow/ wednesday montana enacted legislation which limits or completely eliminates the feds role inside the state w/regard to gun policy.it states that any firearm or ammo produced or permanatley located w/in the state falls under the interstate commerce clause which in effect makes any fed law regarding fire arm policy w/in the state non-applicable.Texas is following citing the 10 th amendment but targeting a much broader swath of fed laws. Utah and other states are working on similar legislation (w/more teeth) asserting individual states rights

Seems like a pretty minor point, what does this have to do with "big government" or "liberals"?

Gunnuts have been going bonkers since Obama got elected. Basically, they foresee an uprising of a sort of "gun Antichrist." Naturally, if you must take on the most powerful military on earth, you would be best to have a few handguns in your underground bunker.

its no minor point! Its potentially HUGE! the feds have been mis -using the original intent of the inter state commerce law to bully around the states and dictate to them all sorts of non sense. they already said they r going to fight this in the supreme court regarding montana. if the courts go in favor of the states w/their interpretation it will shrink the power of the big fed gov over the states.the way it started out over 200 yrs ago,as it should be.

So criminals in Montana can buy bazookas and then travel to North Dakota and blow everything up. Nice.

Being from central and northern Idaho, I grew up around gunnuts who sincerely believed that the government was going to come to their door one day and take all of their precious guns. According to them, one of the most important reasons for owning guns is so that they could fight of the government when it came to expropriate them.

Having escaped that tiny corner of the earth, I've come to realize that people outside of central and northern Idaho couldn't care less about the people living there. I find all the anti-fed, pro-gun BS ignorance at its most outrageous.

Perhaps you have not been following the news this year. Gun and ammo sales have gone through the roof since Obama was elected. People irrationally believe that he's out to take all their precious guns. That's what I was referring to. I don't think it's too difficult to follow really.
