Those are the top four the American people found the most favorable. There were several others listed including such as Jeb Bush, Rubio, Paul Ryan, etc. But the most popular of the American people were in this order:

1. Hillary

2. President

3. Biden

4. Kerry

This is the list of people they asked the question about, and the results:

For - Against as percentage:
61 - 34 Hilary Clinton
51 - 46 Barack Obama
46 - 41 Joseph Biden
25 - 29 Jeb Bush, with 45% don't know
20 - 42 House Speaker John Boehner
27 - 15 Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, with 57% don't knows
34 - 36 U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan
43 - 33 John Kerry
14 - 18 Defense Secretary nominee Chuck Hagel, with 67% don't knows.

There's a lot of don't knows for Jeb Bush, which as an outsider, seems a surprise as he was the Governor of Louisiana and responsible for the voting machines during the Gore-Bush election. Of the people who disapproved of Clinton 27% mentioned Benghazi. I got the above results from the second link, which is interesting - they give a fairly detailed breakdown of their survey results - and say what the question actually asked was.

You have a strange conception of leftist-socialist. The people in that list are all right wing, maybe centrist but definitely not leftist-socialist. You have no main stream left party in the U.S. if you did you'd know as it would be called "Labour" or "Socialist". The Democrats pick up the votes that would have gone to such a party largely because of the absence of a viable alternative, but that doesn't make the Democrats left wing.

What aspects of marxism can you find in Obama's policies and/or platform?

Being a tree hugging LIBERAL Democrat, I like what I see here, and this may be accurate now, but a popular figure is only one scandal away from dishonor, just as an unpopular person is only opportunity away from hero status.

Let us recall the words of Rudyard Kipling:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
