"All of a sudden, Congress is paying attention to Ron Paul. The feisty congressman from Texas, whose insurgent "Ron Paul Revolution" presidential campaign rankled Republican leaders last year,m now has the GOP House leadership on his side -- backing a measure that generated paltry support when he first introduced it 26 years ago. Paul, as of Tuesday, has won 245 co-sponsers to a bill that would require a full-fledged audit of the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010."
All I can say is, what took so ##$$# long!!? Does anyone take issue with this on the radical left? While they are at it, lets do the same for ALL public officials instead of having to wait until they are appointed to cabnet positions before we discover they have not paid their taxes for the last 30 years.

I suppose its just the same knee jerk reaction to conservatives no matter who they are or how intellegent they may be or how qualified them may be to do something and that is, if they are "right leaning", they MUST be an idiot.
He's a Libertarian. Duh!
I have a feeling you guys might as well get used to hearing his name. This is the time for someone like him to shine. He has Obama and company to thank.

So don't waste your time. Ron Paul will never win anything. Ever.

I would prefer almost anything over Ron Paul's dystopian version of laissez-faire capitalism.

Originally posted by whodeyWhy would anyone be fundamentally opposed to an audit of the federal reserve? Worst comes to worst, it's a waste of a little time and money. There's no opposition because it's an issue that people don't really care about.
Well it seems to be a miracle. No opposition on this site to Ron Pauls proposal. It just gets me wondering who voted against it originally years ago. Sure would like a list of those names!! ðŸ˜
Just because it comes from Ron Paul doesn't mean we have to oppose it.
I do think it's funny that during the primary, Ron Paul was a darling of the left wing media (Bill Maher, Michael Moore, etc.) because he was fracturing the Republican party and taking unpopular positions at the debates. Now, those same left wing media personalities hate him because he's against the Obama stimulus plan. Not that those two positions are inconsistent... but it is ironic.
Originally posted by whodeyI have seen that people don't like Ron Paul because of his lack of charissma. What they fail to see is that he is always right. That is where his strength is, and when they give up the left right theatricals, they'll then see him as a powerfull man.

As for Ron Paul fracturing the Republican party, you could aruge the McCain did as well. The fact that the Republican party treated him as poorly as they did is a testament to how far left they have turned. So if they want to continue to lose elections they can continue on the same path if they like.
