DOGE has lied so many times about the "waste and fraud" they are finding. Certainly the 360 year old collecting social security was bogus. They have also been off in their numbers by 3 orders of magnitude. They seem to like focusing on things that can't be positively validated as real.

Regarding the SSA payments to 'dead' people, that is easily explained; this is due to a COBOL programming language bug which defaults to a date of 1920 if no death certificate is known. This does NOT mean that money was actually paid.

Although some overpayments were made to people still living, they amount to less than 1% of the SSA budget, and do not indicate "fraud" as there is no evidence of criminal intent. Typical Trump histrionics.

Imagine theres a winning lottery ticket and you claim to have it. You go to cash it in, say it's worth $300 million. Obviously, one might ask you to show them the ticket before receiving the money. But, when asked, you refuse to answer. No proof ever emerges.
