The "socialists" at Moody's Analytics concluded the Schumer-Manchin bill if passed would:
" Broadly, the legislation will nudge the economy and inflation in
the right direction, while meaningfully addressing climate change and reducing the government’s budget deficits."

but but but…I thought you said passage of this bill was a sure thing (of course it has changed names, but still after the same money) public knowledge ya know
@no1marauder saidthe thinking that corporations and companies pay taxes is your “nonsense”.
Of course, this is BS; the taxes now proposed in the new bill are almost the same as measures he campaigned on.
The idea that a corporate minimum tax on companies with more than $1 billion in profits in a year is a tax on average workers is utter and complete nonsense.
@averagejoe1 saidStephen Moore? The worst "economist" in the US?
No, Steve Moore, a guest on the business channel. Does this for a living, quite reputable. I forgot you fellers only do links.
He was unfit for the Fed and had to withdraw from consideration after Trump nominated him. His main job is going on TV talk shows and telling rich folks what they want to hear.
@mott-the-hoople saidYou know nothing about Economics.
the thinking that corporations and companies pay taxes is your “nonsense”.
The idea that corporations can simply spread any expense to consumers and/or workers is complete nonsense.
@no1marauder saidSo you say this as tho it is a given, that it is foolproof, that it will happen. What a sales pitch. Many would disagree with you. Some think they can predict the future and that we will Iive in a fairy land.
Actually it will save expenses for the vast majority.
It will cut down the costs of climate change.
It will reduce the price of pharmaceutical drugs.
It will ensure that companies that make a $1 billion in profit in one year will pay some tax (about 200 companies who did so last year paid none) thus reducing the burden on other taxpayers.
It will add more IRS agents to collect unpaid taxes.
And on and on.
Yes, I saw where 81,000 IRS agents will be hired to see how much money they can raise. Really cool thinking from our cognitive President. Do you think it might be better for him to close the border, we seized 700,000 fentanyl pills last week. Do you think he, who never made a correct foreign policy decision, (google it), might consider that we beef up military as he taunts China with Pelosi?? Do you know that he could order her, and her transport, to NOT go to Taiwan.
I find you somewhat suspect as you follow and agree with his every move. A bit disingenuous, I think.
But, carry on with your projections of a happy society which will evolve as a result of tremendous spending.
What money are they spending Marauder? That is one of the things which you leave out.
@no1marauder saidI have a business dumbass. With this recent inflation causing the products I resell to soar… I simply adjusted my price to match so my bottom line stays the same.
You know nothing about Economics.
The idea that corporations can simply spread any expense to consumers and/or workers is complete nonsense.
You would not make it very far trying to run a business.
@no1marauder saidhe would be far and above bidens economist dont you think? this damned out of control inflation is killing the poor people

@no1marauder saidYou are 100% wrong and you know it.

Again, quite disingenuous. Are you aware that a bag of potato ships, or a box of cereal, hold less cereal than they used to. If mama has 6 children who used to eat a whole box of cereal, mama has to buy another box to get them all fed.
You have really been slipping these last few weeks.
You know nothing about economics.
@mott-the-hoople saidI cant get over what Marauder just said, that corps dont pass expense on to the consumer. Lib-think has the corp just going Marx, feeding the masses according to their needs. Jesus.
the thinking that corporations and companies pay taxes is your “nonsense”.
I could scream. Not one normal lib among'em
@mott-the-hoople saidMarauder about to bail on this one. Let's follow him to the next thread. Maybe 'Studying Linking 101". "Thinking Before You Type".

to your absurd statements, Jo. They simply don't exist.
@mott-the-hoople saidThe corporate tax is a profits tax and companies always try to maximize profits regardless of tax rates. That's ECO 101.

Google "consumer sovereignty". You can raise prices all you like, but if customers decide not to buy your products at that price, you will have to drop them. You might want to Google "supply and demand" while you're at it.
@mott-the-hoople saidYou own a business?
