Ok, I may be foolish, but I'll throw in again.
I just received an e-mail from Nancy-Ann DeParle? Apparently she works at the White House. I must have signed up for updates at sometime.
Anyway, she was appaulding the upcoming change in Health care.
her first paragraph stated, effective the 1st of the year, Insurance Companies will not be able to drop your coverage. Ok, great.
I have been paying COBRA for 17 months now. For coverage through United Healthcare. I have a letter that tells me, they can't continue this coverage, because my former employer didn't do something, I'll have to dig up this letter.
Anyway, the first three months of COBRA cost my family of 4, roughly 1000.00 a month, with no dental, or vision. The first of last year it shot to 1800.00. 400.00 more than my house payment. Ok, we make a switch and put the wife and girls on another plan. because I am un-insurable, I have to stay on COBRA. Now 676.00
The clause in the bill, says insurance companies can't use the pre-existing clause, on children. The adult portion kicks in on Jan. 1st 2014. Ok I can live with that.
When I was awarded S.S. disability, I was informed I wasn't eligible for medicare until Dec. 2010.............. sooo I'll hang on keep my 2 girls in College and hope for the best.
As a quote I read once says, " If you don't like the way things look, change the way you look at them"
Lets ride the horse, and see what happens hey?

I'd be much happier with a freezer full of walleye, you in Minnesota?
best eatin fish there is,, well maybe ling cod...
Walleye aren't as plentiful or popular here but still tons of fun to catch and eat.
My freezer is currently full of yellow perch, crappie and some walleye. I actually give out packs as presents this time of year.
Re: your insurance situation- have you looked at temporary insurance to cover the gap between your COBRA plan and Medicare?

...and you thought you were screwed before?
Socialist style Healthcare is headed your way topspeed.
Bend over Billy and take it like a man.😏
Hi Guys. I grew up In minnesota, and had a quite a time as a youngster catching so many varieties of fish. Now I'm in oregon, and salmon are fun to catch, but they aren't as good, except smoked.
They have what is called the oregon Medical Insurance Pool here for folks like me. it'll run me about 670.00 a month. I may possibley be able to get on the wifes plan. She'll basically be working to pay our insurance, as I have two daughters in College.
It sucks, but the ball is still in play, and we go forward. I am waiting to see how Obama care pans out. But honestly at 55, and had a great life, I hate thinking about saddling my children with debt like it seems we are going to do. Like every father, I want my kids to enjoy life, as I had the opportunity to.
Fish on!!! hey, I saw a killer whale pod attack and kill a calf whale on the ocean several years back.
