The North American Union (NAU) is a hypothetical continental union of Canada, Mexico and the United States similar in structure to the European Union, sometimes including a common currency called the Amero. Officials from all three nations have said there are no government plans to create such a union,[1] although the idea has been discussed and proposed in academic and scholarly circles, either as a union or as a North American community as proposed by the Independent Task Force on North America.
-This is what Wikipedia defines NAU as... It seems, with the American dollar falling more and more, and YouTube and other media services online beginning to be polluted with more Amero news... that people are either scaring each other into believing, or its becoming a reality...

The only thing missing is to formalize it with a union, which of course would bring the single currency and to formalize the (de facto) open borders.

so much about merging the countries to be one as it is an attempt to
improve trade and cooperation between eventual member nations. It is in
fact exactly like the EU is to European countries.
