"When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw."

Does everyone here feel the same? If so, what is it that you believe in that would force you to become and outlaw?

Depends entirely on what the man 'believes in'. The quote appears to retroactively justify a lifelong crusade for equality.

What is equality? For example, the British heavily taxed the colonists in the 1700's and they revolted against the crown.

Were the colonists simply paying their fair share by helping to pay for the expenditures of the colonies for the UK or were they unfairly burdened with such taxation?

With respect to Nelson Mendela's lifelong crusade in South Africa, I agree with your observations.
Equality has often served as a code word for redress from grievances both real and imagined.

Might is always right in these situations. Governments closely guard their turf. Those rebelling always risk imprisonment or death. That was true of Mandela, the Minutemen, and the CSA.

If I'm denied the right to live the life I believe in, I'd convince other Americans to push for a change to the U.S. Constitution. I can't think of anything much at all that would push me to live as an outlaw. It would take something like a federal law mandating female genital mutilation.
