Our own former house may burn down in that fire and we are not hookers nor are 99% of everyone else in LA.

The folks I ran into, really famous folks BTW, were ALL really nice folks, not arrogant OR big druggies.
They were for the most part hard working actors and musicians.
You just go, Damn Hollywood types, half of them hookers and drug dealers.

@sonhouse Yes,you're right I don't live there,what I made a point is the movies,now days just about all the movies contain very rood and explicit contents,such ; blood all-over the place,shocking violence,explicit sex,farthing,etc,and most off it started 65-70 years ago.I know because I'm 83 years old.

Like I said, I had a band with national gigs and was friends with some famous folks and up close and personal I saw nothing of the dark side, the ones I knew were ordinary people with a famous job and not arrogant or demanding, folks I would have over to lunch and we would talk about the weather and such like just normal conversation.

What is interesting is looking at the houses that survived. Why are insurers not demanding that sort of construction everywhere in California's 'fire zone'?
It would be easy for government to refuse building permits unless the houses were fireproof. When I think about the villa* I rented in France for 4 years, it was stucco with a tile roof. There were wood beams supporting the tiles, but they were not exposed. I think it would have been very hard to set it alight and an ember.
Why are we not doing that? 😆

Like keeping combustibles out from around the house, which is just fuel for fires and making the house itself out of materials as non combustible as is possible like metal roofs and the like, or fireproof paint and the like.
Those actions have shown where a bunch of houses burned down but this one house stood unburned and there is a reason for that, called good engineering.
If I was a billionaire and wanted to fireproof MY house I would go overboard🙂
Dig a frigging hole really deep where the house is on a lift of some sort and if fire threatens, hit the down button and down it goes and a 6 inch thick concrete lid slides in place, problem solved🙂 After the big fire, push the button moving the lid, hit the up button and viola! House unscathed..... Works for tornado's and hurricanes too.
Not so great maybe for earthquakes but every thing else.......
