President Donald Trump said that he will be seeking another state to host the Republican National Convention because the North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper had refused to guarantee that coronavirus restrictions wouldn't affect the party's nominating convention. Governor Cooper said he would not provide the president and his party with a "guarantee" that the party could hold a full-scale convention in Charlotte this summer, citing public health concerns.
Republicans in NC are not happy about this. Donald Trump is fraying his base of support, just when he needs them the most. This coupled with Trump's declining support over the recent protests does not bode well for him in November. In addition, moving a major part convention this late in the election year is going to be major logistical headache for GOP organizers.

Actually, I am hiding in NC right now to stay away from crowds, we have enough folks here already. Why did yall tear down the fence at Lafayette Park? And why did the 2 high-level Facebook employees quit when Zuckerberg decided to allow Trump to continue posting, but they DID NOT quit when the killing of the policeman David Dorn was posted on Facebook? I hope that NC is happy that they aren't getting the free business the convention brings, and that they remember whose tantrum caused them to do without this year. And let's hope that they have memories long enough to last until November.
