Two bombs went off in quick succession at the Shorja market, killing more than 46 people and wounding about 150.
Half an hour earlier a parcel bomb exploded at the Bab al-Sharqi market, killing about 10 people.
The blasts came either side of a 15-minute pause to commemorate a bomb attack on an important Shia shrine in Samarra one year ago.
The Samarra attack - on 22 February, but a year ago by the Islamic calendar - triggered an upsurge in sectarian violence which still grips the country costing thousands of lives a month.

The horror. When is this madness ending? I hope I live enough to see peace over there.

When will it end?
It will start to end when Bush goes and we get an US leader who has a brain.
US troops in Saudi started the ball rolling in the first gulf war, US troops are making it worse.
I suppose you think it is coincidence?
How gullible can you be?
You are as stupid as the Israeli government who think they can stop terrorism by killing innocents.
The whole war was "doomed to failure", not my words but the words of an open letter signed by the creme of British ambassadors.
Powell warned Bush of the stupidity of his actions, he got the sack.

Anybody?
1) Fortress Bagdad
2) As soon as the Iraqis can secure Bagdad by themselves, fall back to the oil fields - Iraqs primary source of income must be protected - let the Iraqi people handle it.

Not hardly, you're in a fantasy world if you think terrorism is rooted in Bush policy. It was around long before, it will be around long after.
"US troops in Saudi started the ball rolling in the first gulf war, US troops are making it worse."
Saddam did not invade Kuwait because U.S. troops were in Saudi Arabia. Check your facts.

Its a shame that your arguments are so weak you have to fabricate things. I did not say that terrorism is rooted in Bush's policy, more it is his failure to understand terrorism and it roots.

Again you (deliberately?) misunderstand my point. I was not arguing against the first gulf war or who started it. The post was about terrorism and the pathetic manner in which Bush and Bush senior have mishandled it. Bin Laden's main stated reason for creating his "jihad" with the West was the manner in which the war was undertaken. In particular the armed infidels desecrating Saudi and supporting the corrupt Saudi regieme.
