@vivify saidYour inability distinguish between different religions by lumping them all in the same basket does not say much for your knowledge or analytical skills.
Same for all religions. The world would be better off if they all disappeared.
I posted recently why the term islamophobia is justified ie why people need to fear the spread of Islam. There is no other religion that proselytes so aggressively. Hundreds of thousands killed in the last 10 years all over North Africa and peoples lives destroyed by Islam.
Islam is a sick religion and has no place in the world.
@rajk999 saidSome religions being worse than others doesn't change that religion has been a blight on humanity. For hundreds of years, none more so than Christianity.

For you to attack Islam shows complete lack of self awareness as well as ignorance of your religion's history.

Christianity… yeah… that’s all fukking love and peace…
@vivify saidThe wording of Quran, which I posted says very clearly to go and kill infidels and Jews.

And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul, but that whoever would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.

@vivify saidThat refers to the Jews settling in the Land of Canaan and people living there. There were outsiders living there who worshipped idols and did human sacrifice to idols.

This does not specify outsiders like the Quran does referring specifically to Jews and Infidels. The Jews were not told to go around different natons killing people for not accepting their religion. Muslims were told to do that.
In any case Christians follow Christ, [not the Torah ]who said to walk away in the event people do not accept your Christian teachings.
@rajk999 said1) The Jews invaded that land. They weren't "settlers". The Jews *were* the outsiders.

2) The Church targeted, persecuted and killed Jews for centuries.
The fact that you don't know this about your own religion is both astonishing and unsurprising.
@rajk999 saidDepends who you ask, but the Christian crusaders killed somewhere in the range of 1 million to 9 million innocent people. Whatever the wording is, they found it and used it.

Funny how religious texts seem so subject to fluid interpretations over time.
While that is a different debate than what the problem religions are right now (the Christians have calmed down for now), religion in general is a consistent problem throughout human history.
@vivify saidYour point 1 is irrelevant.

Point 2 ... The Church did not get that instruction from the bible.
This is the point... the Quran specifically states to kill Infidels and Jews.
@wildgrass saidWell you can ask for 100 opinions and get 100 different responses. I am referring specifically to the wording of the religious texts. So while the early Christian church [specifially the Catholics], went about killing witches and other people and used the bible as justifiation, the Quran is crystal clear. I posted the texts in another thread.

The Christian churches calmed down, as you say, because their conduct could not be supported from the teachings of Christ who said to walk away from unbelievers. The Quran says kill unbelievers. There is going to be no calming down in Islam. Hence the moderate Muslims are warning people to be wary of these groups like ISIS, Boko Haram, Taliban and several others all over the world.
I am wondering why you people are not seeing the stark difference in the worlding
