NATO is just as much to blame though. They provoked the invasion.
In contrast, nobody provoked my government to invade and occupy Syria. That is just an oil grab.

-Removed-Russia could have chosen not to invade despite NATO expanding after promises (lies) from the USA, UK and France NATO would not. A bear could wait for hunters to surround him and shoot him too. When should a bear lash out and make a run for it? Never?
The answer is sooner rather than later. Personally, I think Russia waited too long to invade. They should have done it in 2014 after the US backed coup.
Your whole argument is based on the assumption Russia had better choices. Did they?

The USA, UK and France pledged to not expand NATO. They not only expanded NATO, it was about to expand to Russia's border.
Syria is nowhere near the USA. Shouldn't the USA withdrawal from Syria and apologize for invading before expecting Russia to withdrawal from Ukraine?
