The USA is deep in debt and still uses US taxpayer money to arm Egypt's new dictator with free military weaponry.

Is Morsi another example of meet the new boss, same as the old boss?

I doubt that. I am more inclined to think Morsi is just another puppet of the US government just like Mubarak was.

    That's a lot of firepower. That's a squadron.

20 jets and the tanks may not be a lot, but considering we are broke and deep in debt it is 20 too many.

I think there is a difference between someone like Mubarak who decided to make a career out of becoming a client of the US, and Morsi who is prepared to 'sup with the Devil', He will need a long spoon though.

Well it's well past time we square ourselves. That's for damn sure. And very not sure why we're doing that thing.

I wonder whether those jets are built in Republican or Democratic districts by companies that support Republican or Democratic congresspeople.

I guess this just goes to prove that Obama isn't pro-Islamic extremist.

Egypt's President Morsi has no choice but to attempt to maintain relations with
the USA. In order to stay in power, Morsi needs to keep Egypt's military content.
Egypt's military relies chiefly upon American arms (which Morsi inherited from
Mubarak), which still need some spare parts or technical support from the USA.
So Morsi cannot simply end Egypt's military relationship with the United States.

After the fall of the Shah, the Islamic Republic of Iran continued to have some
covert military dealings with the United States. During the Iran-Iraq War, the
USA sold Iran spare parts (presumably at inflated prices) and weapons that were
compatible with the US weapons systems inherited from the Shah's regime.

I think that's the most valid question. Of course, from a Keynesian perspective, it primes the pump by putting lots of people to work building tanks and fighter jets we don't need, and which could end up used against us.

Did they pay for them, or did the US taxpayers?

My wife mentioned this in reply to me when I mentioned this thread topic to her.

How would Obama's actions be any different if he himself wasnt a Muslim? How would his actions be different if he is actually a Christian?

Obama is such a joke. Anyone who believes Obama's lies is a moron.

Why would the US give away free planes?

Well, except to Israel of course.
