What exactly do you mean by "have his way with you"? And why should he be obliged to marry you? And why would you want to marry someone who only marries you because he is obliged to do so?

In some countries, if a male above the age of consent obtains carnal knowledge from a female no more than 2 years under such age, using non-criminal means as "promises of eternal love", he faces a quite respectable term in jail unless he proposes marriage through the judge... I cannot imagine other way of being "obliged" unless you're talking about social norms 😕

I don't know about Islamic law on that particular matter... I meant Mexican law 😳 [and possibly some Latin American countries, unless the legislation is changed by now]

I really heard thats the case in some Islamic countries. Recently Ivanhoe posted a news report in which a man - cant remember the name of the country - was instructed (by the judge) to marry a goat because the owner caught him having sex with the goat. The same principle might apply to sex with women.

If you are really serious, perhaps a better question is to ask yourself why anyone should be obliged to marry anyone else, and if sex should lead to marriage under any conditions.

do people also get married because they feel obligated? surely not all marriages are founded on love!

my boyfriend says he feels obligated to marry me, that it is the right thing to do and that the joy and pleasure i give him obligates him to do so.
