Mott, could any one of our friends on the Forum know this wonderful woman, who was thrown in jail for 2 years by the democrats, for demonstrating that babies should not be torn from the wombs of their mothers with their craniums cracked?
God bless our wonderful new president. He has astounded the Global Elite at the World conference, who will all go home and say, ...'you know, he is right.'

Infanticide is already against the law in every State; a Federal law is completely unnecessary. The vote was just showboating done for political effect because the March for Life is in a few days.

Remember when right wingers said such issues should be left to the States?

If there's a law that already exists that makes something illegal, what's the point in passing a second law?

Either the legislation is pointless, or it doesn't do what you say it does.

Already posted to another hysterical thread on this subject:

The bill is a political stunt by the GOP, a kind of legislative "saber-rattling" meant to intimidate health care workers by broadcasting, with circus-like political theater, that they will go to PRISON if...

If...?

Well, if they don't do the job they're already committed to doing anyway.

And now MAGA rubes here are playing into the stunt, and showcasing its primary intent: issuing theater and threats. Hang-wring and whine all you like, rubes, but understand that you are simply playing the part of the fool here.

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act requires health professionals to provide the "same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence" that would be offered during a normal childbirth.

Practitioners who fall foul of the measure would face fines and up to five years in jail.

Democrats consistently dismiss such bills as redundant because it is already illegal for health workers to kill or neglect a newborn, and say such legislation aims to intimidate reproductive health care workers providing abortions.

If it's just about "infanticide", how come it is only concerned with abortion?

Theater for the rubes. That's the point.

And of course, the theater wastes taxpayer dollars. There are many pressing issues facing the nation, and outlawing killing newborns isn't one of them. Strangely enough, it is already illegal to kill newborns in all 50 states. Wow. Just imagine.

This is the kind of BS we can expect Republicans in Congress to pour their energies into -- and our taxes -- for the foreseeable future. Good for theocracy's brand, but terrible for the functioning of democracy.

Well, one also would have to consider what a tool this would be for anti-abortion fanatics that Trump intends to fill the DOJ with. Rather than have such cases (in the rare times they actually occur) be handled in State courts, this would give carte blanche to Federal prosecutors to use criminal charges as ideological weapons against health care providers.

Kudos to the Democratic Senators for not falling for this BS.

LOL! I can just imagine you now: jumping about in hysterics about a new talking point like some trained chimp. Boy oh boy, you must've thought you really had a scoop here, when all you've done is show your ignorance.

So, for the last time: It is already 100% illegal to not render every possible medical intervention for any newborn.

Go on to your next act.
