No mike for this senario your in the USA where your not allowed a different opinion
Originally posted by RedmikeThis is probably a topic for another thread, but a lack of insurance does not equate to a lack of treatment in America. Unlike European countries or Canada, the feds do not promise "free" health care and not deliver by putting you in a queue.
Of course they do.
The US healthcare system is clearly better than the UK system.

If you were informed that you only had one day to live what would you do with it
edit. i don't actually take drugs, but if you're gonna die, die with your boots on.

sux when people come to visit only when they're sick doesn't it

Odd.
And besides, you've tried this hack job before and still don't have all your facts right. Canada's health care system provides "basic health care" at no charge to a patient. "Specialized" health care is provided by Private Clinics and you pay for it yourself or you can go to a Public Clinic but you may have to wait a few weeks since there is huge demand because it is partially paid for by the government.
Alternatively, you can go to the US and have the treatment done there if your illness requires very specialized treatment or you don't want to wait. The government will pick up most of the tab on out of country expenses in most cases.
Just because we use your facilities from time to time, it doesn't mean our system doesn't work. You guys buy our Oil and Gas all the time and use our highways to get from state to state (border states) because our highways have higher speed limits. Does that mean you guys are deficient in those areas or are you just using what's available without having to duplicate service?

oh yeah, that's what I want .. socialized medicine and a affirmitive action surgeon.
Edit: Okay, I take that back. But come on dude. Canada isn't like that.

You're invisible dudeite .. and so is Canada when it comes to anything more meaningful than beer and ice-fishing, which i'll grant you, is pretty meaningful this time of year.
Get over yourself, if you thought I was addressing you, it was all in your imagination.
I'll give you this .. you picked a fitting name to use as an ID.
It fits you AND Canada.
Originally posted by uzlessPlease tell me you're joking and you are not that dense? I never said I didn't want Canadians in the US. The communist chap from Scotland made a snide remark about US health care and I answered him by saying that some Canadians go to the US for health care reasons so the US system must not be too bad. Speed limits. The speed limit in Canada is 100 kmh which comes out to 62 mph (its 65 in the Eastern US) unless you are counting the western provinces and its 120 kph or 74 mph in Alberta unless they have changed it. The speed limit in MN, ND, MT is 70, ID is 75 along with SD. That makes it a couple of MPh + or - depending on where you are traveling. Going through customs isn't worth the time saved if any.
