Well... if the whole film is in a foreign language... then surely foreign language category is okay.

What category was that Mel Gibson film in? Not Braveheart (that won the “technically not very historic” category), the one about Jesus.

Jesus! I had to google it (old age).
The passion of the Christ.
Didn’t get entered into a best movie category.

But his other foreign language film Apocalypto did get entered into various film awards. In the foreign language categories.

Ironically, the Artist won the Oscar for best movie. It’s French. And silent. So technically quite far removed from English speaking...
