Hamas's objective is also not peace, and Trump will never get peace in the ME by threatening Hamas. People in that part of the world respond to threats with redoubled resentment and implacable resistance. A Pashtan proverb is: "He who does not return a punch for a pinch is not Pashtan."

@cosmic-energy4 saidPutin is a dyed-in-the-wool old-school KGB man from the Soviet Era. Putin never stopped fighting the Cold War. Americans were blind to think they 'won' when the old Soviet Union dissolved.
@moonbus; Russia have the largest landmass in the world,why Putin wants a piece of land from Ukraine why? because as a ex KGB agent and a communist he wants to reinstall the SOVIET UNION under the name FEDERAL RUSSIAN UNION. or something like that.
Putin's objective is to split NATO, and, if possible, split the USA off from NATO. In Trump, Putin has an accomplice, albeit an unwitting one. Putin's Ukraine invasion is not only about territory--it's also an 'occasion' to divide NATO. He's succeeding, and the longer Putin drags out 'peace negotiations', the more he succeeds.

@cosmic-energy4 saidSooner or later, the GOP must turn on him. I just hope the 2026 mid-term elections are fair. That will be the first test of limiting his arbitrary power. The courts have failed miserably to rein him in; the courts had 4 years to charge him with insurrection and failed utterly. It's up the the electorate now.

As a Canadian I don't know the United States anymore under the Trump administration. May possibly be the worst one EVER in the history of American Politics.
As I 've said I have many relatives mainly living in Boston. It is not the American People as a whole it is their President who is destroying The United States. I have many friends and relatives, not to mention acquaintances in the U.S. who I will always be friends with until the end.
