Pakistan’s deadly floods have created a massive 100km-wide inland lake, satellite images show

Swaths of the country are now underwater, after what United Nation officials have described as a “monsoon on steroids” brought the heaviest rainfall in living memory and flooding that has killed 1,162 people, injured 3,554 and affected 33 million since mid-June.

The new images, taken on August 28 from NASA’s MODIS satellite sensor, show how a combination of heavy rain and an overflowing Indus River have inundated much of Sindh province in the South.

Gigantic hailstone in Australia sets new record

A “gargantuan” 6.3-inch hailstone set a new continental record in Australia on Tuesday, accompanying an outbreak of destructive spring thunderstorms that pummeled the Land Down Under.

Dangerous weather had been plaguing eastern Australia with a slew of hail-producing storms in New South Wales and Queensland. In parts of New South Wales, so much hail fell that it covered the streets like snow and contributed to a roof collapse at a shopping center.

The largest hail, measured at more than half a foot in diameter, was reported in Queensland. Hailstones exceeding six inches across are known as “gargantuan.”

How much more damage is needed before we do something about climate change? How much more damage before climate-change deniers stop pretending humans aren't massively contributing?

South Park on "manbearpig", which they originally used to mock Al Gore and climate change, but years later realized they were wrong:

We really need to learn how to harvest flood water more efficiently. All that water just gets flushed out to sea and then we whine about drought afterwards.

Much of this is sea water, which is not drinkable.

I don’t think so.

The flooding was triggered by seasonal rain
