First of all, you really should place your anger where it belongs: on people that made cancer treatment as expensive as that.
Secondly, you can extend that reasoning to everyone who doesn't spend their money at the level of morality you want. Why does a billionaire get to buy a ludicrous yacht. Why should a millionaire football player get to buy a million dollar car.
One old lady spending her pension to care for a companion of 10 years, one family spending money to ease a dog who was seen their children grow up last year, can you tell them they should spend their extra money on starving people? It's exactly like telling people they should do all they can for the environment while a few corporations account for like 70% of all greenhouse emissions.
