Rick Perry likened to Bible’s doomed King Saul by Bachmann staffer

Last week, following Michele Bachmann’s win at the Iowa straw poll and Gov. Rick Perry’s official presidential announcement, the pair were compared to biblical figures: King Saul, the people’s choice, and King David, God’s choice.

Peter Waldron, who does outreach for Bachmann’s campaign, said on his Facebook page: “From afar and in prayer I see a Saul and David scenario between Perry and Bachmann. One looks everything like a king while the other is anointed.”

    Meanwhile . . .

The CBO's mid-year assessment reduces projected 2011 economic growth rate from 3.1 percent to 2.3 percent, and estimates the jobless rate will remain above 8% until 2014.

President Obama is on vacation, but when he returns he will surely tell us for the umpteenth time that he is going to focus like a laser on jobs.

As Rachel Maddow put it last night, the only thing Perry really adds to the Bachman package is that he isn't a woman. And Republicans appear to be grabbing for that like gangbusters.

He also does have executive experience - to be fair. And hasn't been caught on videotape hiding behind bushes to spy on gay rights demonstrators.
