I wonder if Robert (herafter known as the jerk) knows that any unsolicited ...[text shortened]... or PM) is considered SPAM and neiter Russ nor Chrismo will take to kindly to that childish crap.

I'm not really sure about this debate.

They all have there strengths and there weaknesses, but if I have to plum for one I would have to say the xBox. I own a PS2 and xBox and probably have 3 times as many games for PS2 than the xbox. My reasoning is I think the xbox is far superior, I have a modded xbox and you can do crap loads with it, I think the quality of the games are better on xbox, unless they have been ported from other formats, but xbox only games have a better quality about them.
Sure the PS2 is more popular, more games but don't forget the PS2 was out a while before xBox and with PS1 gaining the market share to set the PS2 up nicely. So PS2 had gained a good market base before xBox came out, but no matter xBox is by far superior technically.
Someone mentioned contollers, well I don't like the PS2 ones, I have huge hands and the xBox ones fit pefectly, besides you can buy different controllers so no reason for this in the argument.
Online well,, I am a huge online gamer especially PC but try Xbox live, superb, team based games like Ghost Recon played onlline wow. Comes close to PC standards.
So as an overall console xbox takes it. the only thing PS2 has over it is variety of games.

I let the kids play on the PS2 now and I keep the xBox myself. Games on the xBox take longer to master. Maybe thats why they have to keep producing loads on the PS2, because they are too easy to complete.

Well, my two cents are that my PS2 is very cool. It seems to have all the titles I'm looking for and the graphics are right on. Plus, I use it for my DVD player and that saves me dough on that end.

With the prices dropping for the XB and GC, I'd consider a mulit-console gamer experience.

Buy an Xbox, find a friend who has one, buy 2 copies of Halo and another two controllers, find 2 other friends, link together and play team deathmatch. The hours will disappear!

I like the GC because I can play Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2 on the screen with the GameBoy Player.

In fact, that's primarily why I even bothered with the GC. GC doesn't play DVD's, so it got hurt immediately.

I'm sure I'd consider X-Box for Halo, although there is a PC port, so it'll be not the only reason to consider the X. Besides, the X is huge.

PS2 has the games, and plays all the PS1 games. Still, GC has the mascots and some of the best loved games in the world. PS2 has the sports games, and for those, if that's your genre, IMHO ain't none better.

A few years back, there was a discussion off an article and they asked what would you like on your next model. I said, give me a network card (now it would be wifi), give me dual/multiple display capabilities for head-to-head on one console, but privacy. (See, the gamelink being necessary for the GC on some games would be sweet for things like inventory control, spell casting, play manipulation, etc.).

I'm not saying the GC is the best, but its strengths are not to be ignored lightly.

Why make Your PS2 into a PC if you have a PC?
