The 2021 Lie of the Year: Lies about the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and its significance

In the days that followed, Trump, some of the loudest and most influential members of the Republican Party and vocal partisan media personalities offered a deluge of justifications, excuses and conspiracy theories to reframe the events of Jan. 6 as no big deal.

They said Jan. 6 was instigated by undercover left-wing activists who were part of antifa. That was proved false.

They said the rioters hadn’t used force and one Republican congressman likened the events to "a normal tourist visit." Video proved that wrong.

They claimed the attack on the Capitol had nothing to do with race, even though white supremacists and far-right militia groups were among the most active participants, and many rioters wore racist t-shirts.

They suggested the whole affair was staged by the government, a false flag operation. Others suggested it was entirely a peaceful protest. All of that was wrong.

They said that the rioters were political prisoners and shouldn’t face serious charges. A host of federal judges and courts have held otherwise.

Probably the biggest lie of
the decade. Don't expect much feedback,
because this GOP fueled mendacity is beyond refute.

The biggest lie of the year was Biden saying he was going to put an end to Covid 🙄

The second biggest lie was people saying Kamala Harris would actually work 🙄

Does she do anything?...Anything at all?

I remember people saying they won't vote for Trump because of covid. Like he had some control over the spread or something 🙄

Well old Biden is breaking records with infections and hospitalizations 👍
So much for the democrats plan to stop covid.

No.

It was Trump admitting he lied to the American people about during an interview, holding multiple super-spreader events, obstructing both Fauci and the CDC from communicating with the public about Covid, cutting off finding from the World Health Organization just because they contradicted him on Covid, promoting unproven treatments for Covid like hydroxychloroquine, suggesting bleach could be a valid treatment for Covid.....etc., etc.

That, and failing to contain Covid back when there were only like 45 confirmed cases in the U.S. and rising, despite other countries being in turmoil over the same disease.

They will repeat the same lies over and over.
These people never seem to let FACTS get
in the way of their faulty narrative.
