pony's butts?
and i used to have one-but i that was mainly cause i worked in a restaurant and my hair stank afterwards! so i'd wash it then put it in a pony tail to dry, but it'd take so long to dry that it'd have to say in a pony tail all night. meh. i hate hair. it sucks. i wanna go bald...*is currently wearing a hat everywhere*

and do you have a problem with people with single butts? a rifle only usually has one butt, and i wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of a rifle. especially if it's loaded and STANG's holding it...

what are everyone's views of ponytails on men?

I've had long hair for about 15 years now (yeah, I know). Originally I can't remember why I grew my hair, but it certainly looked a lot better than it did short (believe me), and I've had it at various lengths from shoulder length to bottom length over the years.
Now I have a more respectable job, I tie it back at work just to look a bit neater (I'm slightly scruffy at the best of times).
But if people think I look naff because I have a pony tail then they can sod off - I've never cared about fashion anyway. When I had long hair when I was 15 I got laughed at. Two years later when grunge got popular I was ahead of the fashion and ecerybody was desperately trying to grow theirs.
I stick to what I know, even if some people don't like it.

lol...well the reason i ask is because my hairs long enough to have one now, ive been trying to decide wether to have one or not!...im not sure it will go down to well at school though!
and i mustve had long hair for about 7 or 8 year after school,
cant imagine it wouldve been particularly popular at the school i was at
Originally posted by royalchickenIf you're going to try to cut your own hair, I recommend investing in at least a pair of scissors. Even if you keep your knives really, really sharp (as I try to), cutting hair at any length other than shaved is definitely a two-hand operation and with a razor-sharp knife held in very odd positions, your other hand (not to mention your scalp) is in significant danger.
Does anyone know how to do a respectable self-haircut with a penknife or am I going to have to shave my head?
I once had a gadget that was sort of like a comb with an internal (and replaceable) razor blade. It was supposed to be for trimming your own hair. It sort of worked. Where or how you would find one, I have no idea.
Your odds of getting a result that doesn't look, ummm, "very asymmetrical" will improve markedly if your hair is cut by someone who can see what they're doing, which you can't when it comes to the back of your head. I suggest that for really cheap haircuts, you find a friend and cut each other's hair rather than trying to cut your own.

Paul

I have actually used a knife to cut my hair before and it does work, but only in a particular way as follows :
1) Hair must be long enough to fit in a ponytail
2) Ponytail should be gathered up and tied
3) Very sharp knife can then be used to sever the hair behind the hair tie previously put in place.
4) Gives you a reasonably even cut if knife is sharp, sort of a Mel Gibson from "Mutiny on the Bounty"
