Last year, Trump nominated Joshua Divine, who once argued for literacy tests to be required for voting. He has since been confirmed as a federal district judge.
There's currently no significant push for this test that I'm aware of. However:
The Voting Rights Act has been gutted, and Trump is still advocating for the SAVE Act to be passed, requiring proof of citizenship to vote. This bill passed in the House and stalled in the Senate due to filibuster; the "Nuclear Option" to change the filibuster, while a long-shot, is still possible to get the bill enacted.
Both of these bills aim to return the country to Jim Crow-era voting. Whether the SAVE Act gets passed or not, literacy tests seem to be the next logical progression of Republican efforts to revert back to pre-Civil Rights voting laws.
@vivify saidI'd be in favor of a sanity test.

I'd be in favor of a sanity test.

h) Is it okay to argue in court that a president should be allowed to assassinate political opponents?
@vivify saidHere are a couple more that will weed out useless voters :

- Should African Americans who impregnate a woman, leaves her and the baby fatherless, and often homeless, be allowed to cast a vote
- Should career criminals like George Floyd, be allowed to vote
- Should Muslims who promote Sharia Law be allowed to vote
- Should members of the DSA who promote socialism and aim to completely dismantle capitalism be allowed to vote.
No to all, in my opinion.
@Rajk999 saidThe DSA has only 100,000 members.

Which political party in America is actively advocating for public ownership of companies and profit sharing among citizens?
If you're against socialism, and favor removing socialists from the voter rolls, you should be asking for disenfranchisement of the MAGA Republicans.
They call it something different - state capitalism - but it's essentially the same thing. The government calls the shots of private enterprise, and takes some of the profits.
