But the same would apply if Congress and the White House were dominated by libertarians seeking to make major spending cuts. It would be controversial - there would be a rush to get it all done as quickly as possible - leaving lots of time for the anger to calm.
I do agree that this is a lousy way to deal with complex issues and policies -- but under the current system, it's what we're stuck with.

I would vote for anyone who has not proven themselves to be a statist, even a Democrat. In fact, I would like to see some Republicans go. Political parties are irrelavent, or at least should be.
