@no1marauder saidI think Ben Sasse, senator from NE, is one of the few sensible Republicans, not in thrall to Trump, but he does not have enough traction to run for the presidency.
There's no such thing as a "regular Republican" anymore at least none that have any chance of winning the nomination in 2024.
@moonbus saidGrooming is more the schtick of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Green, though, isn't it?
The Democrats had better start grooming a credible candidate for 2024.
@mchill saidIf Trump doesn't win the nomination, he may run as an independent and basically hand the election over to the dems
I see the dems losing to a regular Republican.
This is a very real possibility. The Donald has so much legal baggage now, I doubt he'd win the nomination anyway.
@beowulf saidIf that's true, then a poor midterms would be in the best long-term interest of the GOP.
@no1marauder
The Don won't run unless Republicans win the midterms in a landslide.
@earl-of-trumps saidGallup is a respected pollster.....
C'mon, Jimm, it's a Gallup poll, for gawd's sake
.Must be their results elsewhere
Why not cite 538 or Gallup itself?

Everyone is aware of the low poll numbers for OUR PRESIDENT,
but everyone blames Biden unfairly for the current condition.
He was dealt a bad hand.....
But not as bad as OBAMA's

@beowulf saidThe reports are he is itching to make a declaration before the mid-terms possibly because he, like most Republicans, think they're going to have a big win there. Then he'd claim credit for it, like he claims credit for anything that appears favorable to his loyal minions. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/07/14/trump-2024-announcement-fall/

@averagejoe1 saidYou already committed yourself to THIS MONTH
It will be messier than that, as I don't see Biden finishing this term. Thus my post about what will happen.

seems as if sitting Presidents cannot be prosecuted, only impeached.

Biden Job Approval Dips to New Low
BY JEFFREY M. JONES
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Joe Biden's job approval rating has fallen below 40% for the first time and now sits at a personal low of 38%
@jimm619 saidI rate the chances of Trump being prosecuted for anything related to his attempts to nullify the 2020 election, including the January 6th riot, as "low".

You know, instead of Breitbart, Newsmax, Rumble, et al. those sketchy sites.
The more credible your source Earl,
the more credible your post.
Take Marauder vs Metal brain, just as an example;
Are you more likely to explore a
NEW YORK TIMES link or Rumble link.
Words are thrown around plenty, on this site,
I always try to make my posts factual and,
if you remember, there are times when I apologized
for posting erroneous information...........
You need not be sarcastic when I call
you on a questionable source.
Just makes for good form, my friend.
