Why aren't Arabs donating to the university? Seems like Jews are being punished for their financial donation.

Aren't they always being punished, though?
I mean, wasn't that what the whole old testament was about?

I think you're downplaying the content of his tweets and assuming that anyone who criticises Israel is up for being fired.

Nelson added that harsh criticism of Israel is widespread among faculty members. "Salaita’s extremist and uncivil views stand alone. There is nothing ‘unpopular’ on this campus about hostility to Israel.

I doubt that Southfast advertises his comments here to his school administrators.

"Approve" isn't the right word. I'm not surprised. According to articles he has been deliberately controversial before ( on non-Israel topics ). Nelson stated that harsh criticism of Israel was widespread amongst faculty members at Illinois. Had he presented his argument in a manner more befitting a man of his academic status perhaps he would still be in a job.

I generally support the right of any employer to terminate an employee. Apparently this professor lacked tenure which makes termination almost impossible. If he was close to getting tenure, that might have been a factor in the school deciding to offload his now, while they could still do so.
